Mitt Romney: Mormon

I don't care that Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Just like I don't care that George Bush is a born-again Christian and Hilary is a phony-baloney "christian" who only enters a church now and again for a photo-op. That being said, how is it that the mainstream media can get away with talking about his faith and pointing to it as an understandable, acceptable reason to NOT vote for him. USA Today asks "Will Mormon faith hurt bid for White House?" ...CBS News trumpets "Romney's Mormonism May Be An Issue". The pundits on television discuss the issue of Romney's faith as if it is a grave handicap to his campaign. They seem to be saying "Gee, it's too bad about that Mormon thing...he seems like a nice guy". Why dont we start talking about Barrack's race or Hillary's sex as being obstacles to their winning? I know these issues have been brought up in the past, but they were quickly discounted as serious obstacles...after all, discrimination and bigotry based on RACE and SEX are just HORRIBLE. If those are obstacles to Hillary and Barrack, the people basing their decisions on these factors should be scourged and shunned...corrected, scolded and reeducated. Of course, discrimination and bigotry based on religion is understandable.

Death of the 'N' word

We are witnessing the beginning of the end for my favorite racial slur: NI**ER. Don Imus (indirectly) blew it for the rest of us by inspiring Al Sharpton to step up his efforts to BAN the word. I will be sad to see it go. Not many words in the English language are as filled with potentially explosive power as this one is (was). We have kept it alive for a good long while, though. Both whites and blacks have done their part and each side deserves much credit. White people deserve a lot of credit for carrying it for so long, but once they stopped using the word in casual conversation and passed the baton to black people (somewhere around the mid-1970s), the word became more popular than ever. They dropped the 'er' and replaced it with an 'a' to make it more smoove and 'fresh'. They spread the word through the neighborhoods (hoods) that the word was acceptable for use by blacks...in their day to day interactions and in their movies and music. Up until a few weeks ago, the word had become so prevalent that you could scarcely find a single illegal download that didn't contain at least 10-30 'ni**as' peppered throughout. <"I aint talkin to you ni**a...gonna smack &*@# and &(@&# a fat n**ga...gonna stab me a ni**a, ni**a...George Bush and Mother f**king KATRINA, ni**a!">. It was just good, clean fun...then Don Imus referred to some black basketball players as "nappy headed hos" and it was over. At least, it looks that way to me...
